Financial Inclusion

Aggressive Approach toward Younger Generations

The co-creation of creditability, or the act of building credit together with customers, is MARUI GROUP's core value. Financial inclusion is one venue for exercising this value. Approximately 2.8 million of the users of MARUI GROUP's financial services, including the offerings of tsumiki Co., Ltd., rent guarantee services, and driver license acquisition loans, in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2022, were attributable to the younger generation demographic as defined by MARUI GROUP.

We aim to have the number of such customers exceed 5.0 million in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, and we will be rolling out initiatives to deliver financial services that support customers throughout their lives, no matter how their life stages may change, accordingly.

EPOS Point-Driven Asset Building Service

In December 2020, tsumiki Co., Ltd., launched a new service that allows EPOS cardholders to use their accrued points for asset building. This service was developed in response to customer requests for more appealing means of using their points, specifically for investment services. Accordingly, EPOS cardholders are now able to purchase investment trusts handled by tsumiki with their EPOS points.

Co-Creation with Non-Japanese Residents of Japan

The number of non-Japanese EPOS cardholders surpassed 90,000 on March 31, 2022. Looking ahead, we will continue to expand our base of non-Japanese cardholders through measures matched to the needs of such customers conducted in partnership with Global Trust Networks Co., Ltd.

Financial Inclusion through Investment

Endorsing the goals of Gojo & Company, Inc., which aspires to provide microfinance services to low-income individuals in developing countries, MARUI GROUP is advancing financial inclusion initiatives through investment in this company. Gojo & Company is currently active in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and India.

We will continue such collaborative efforts to provide a diverse range of financial services to customers worldwide through investment in the future.
